Our wedding day

As we slowly ease out of lockdown, I thought it’d be a nice idea to blog about my wedding day, so that I can share some ideas/ thoughts etc to putting together our big day. We (me and my now husband) spent three years planning and saving, to have the best day ever! This is a blog about what we went for, every couple is different, no two weddings the same! That’s why I love weddings so much, they’re the inner working of two peoples love, as mushy as that may sound!

We were incredibly lucky to get married on the 20th September 2019. The photographs following were taken by Katy + Emily Photography.

Bride/groom prep:

Double Tree By Hilton - Nottingham Gateway
The hotel sat nicely in-between both venues.

Heels - Ted Baker

Bracelet - Ted Baker

Perfume - Emporio Armani You (his & hers)
Lip stick - Charlotte Tilbury

Bridesmaid bags - Etsy

Hair: Amy at Hair at no 11

Gel nails by Claire at Nails by Claire

Groom:

Suit hire: Moss Bros

Tie: Ted Baker

Watch: Weird Ape

Bridesmaids:

Dresses - ASOS
Shoes - ASOS

Flower girl dresses - TkMaxx

I brought my bridesmaid dresses super early and in the sale for about £22 each!

Rings:

We absolutely loved our ring making workshop at with Luna Moth Jewellery. We had a lovely day creating these rings, had an afternoon tea and then took home a bottle of champagne! Our wedding rings are personalised with a hammered texture which feels very unique and sentimental.

Flowers: My amazing fresh flower bouquets + two bridesmaids and button holes for the mother of the bride & groomsmen were from Kelly at Twisted Twine.

We booked a 56 seater vintage London bus from the Nottingham based company Blackmore commercials to take everyone from the hotel, to the ceremony venue (Wollaton Hall) then to the reception venue (Goosedale). We then booked a double decker bus to take everyone back to the Double Tree with Tiger European.

For the bride arrival, I was lucky enough to have a wedding car take myself and my Dad from the hotel to the venue, it was a classic Beauford from Excelsior wedding cars.

Ceremony venue: Wollaton hall - the great hall.

Little details:
Welcome signage - Hand made by Harriett
The plan’ bags - had confetti, tissues, sweets and a little breakdown of the day
Reserved tags - for the first two rows, handmade

My walking down the aisle song was by Queen - Somebody to love!

We said I do!

We took photos on the ROOF of Wollaton, so cool!

After our photos we headed over to the Camilla House, the glass house for canapés by Saffron Cattering and some Prosecco / Brewdog beers provided by ourselves for corkage. We actually ran out really quickly (12 bottles of Prosecco was not enough!) but fortunately Wollaton Hall were prepared and were able to provide 10 more bottles!

On to Goosedale - the garden rooms for our reception!
Here’s some little touches that we put together, centre pieces were mostly brought on amazon, Ebay, Facebook market place, the range etc. The faux flowers are from country baskets , I highly recommend shopping here for some flowers that will last!
The cupcakes were Waitrose & the cake M&S, neither are actually from the wedding range but they worked just as well!

We also gave out little jars of Sourz shots in apple, blackcurrant and cherry.

The evening entertainment kicked in, with a lovely acoustic duo set by Mango Acoustic, including our first dance song sang live, Songbird by Fleetwood Mac and Slipping through my fingers by ABBA for my Father Daughter dance.

Our DJ was Dream Wedding Entertainment who did a complimentary game of ‘Mr & Mrs’ which was hilarious!

The team members at Goosedale were great for putting out my props for the fireworks, including extra long sparklers and a passage way of paper lanterns!

We had fireworks by 1st Galaxy fireworks which we called ‘Pyro-Queen’ as the fireworks were set along to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody!

& That’s our big day!
It really was everything that we dreamed about and more. We enjoyed & made the most of every moment and so we have no regrets! Our favourite part was the actually getting married part, but the rest of it was pretty good too!
